If your connectors are the same you should hold no issue. Not all LCD monitors or pictographic cards support both DVI and VGA so you might need to attain an adapter or just contest your connectors.
Now your graphics card might not be able to optimally manipulate your LCD monitor but that's usually on the higher downfall LCD monitor. For instance, your graphics card may only be capable of display 1024x768 while your LCD monitor may be able to bar much higher resolutions (this isn't a problem for lower finale LCD monitors).
So worst case scenario is you remuneration for a premium LCD monitor but could have gotten away next to a cheaper LCD monitor and get matching quality (but not be as adjectives proof).
Most all monitors immediately are plug n play so you shouldn't have a problem. If you do you can other take it rear legs for a refund. 19' and 21" are running around $200 within retail stores. Also try newegg.com
