Use any brand monitor on gateway?

my monitor broke so i am upgrading to the lcd monitor :))). can i use any brand monitor? i indicate, will it work on a gateway computer? i saw a samsung at the store and will buy it tonight if i can use any brand besides gateway. thanks

You sure can. Just make sure that the output from your computer (VGA or DVI) match the input on the monitor.
Most LCDs have both inputs, so it shouldnt be a problem, merely something to keep your eye stretch out for.
You might consider buying an LCD HDTV with inputs for computers, almost adjectives makes come beside these now.
I enjoy a 42in widescreen HDTV but a 27 would be good, depends on what you can afford.
