look around your laptop and look for a connection. should be a blue nouns (standard analog), a white connection (DVI Digital) or a S-video nouns (looks kind of approaching a mouse/keyboard connection) just budge to the store and buy a cable that fits it, and plug it up. you should have a function button on your laptop labeled 'fn' or so. hold it down and look at your F key for one that looks like a monitor/tv. click it and it should see your TV connection.
