Where have the 'run' facility gone contained by Vista?
Answer:
click the Start Menu and type Run within the Search field. Click the Run command and while holding down your mouse button, drag it onto your desktop or onto the Quick Launch toolbar. I prefer to place the shortcut on the Quick Launch toolbar to avoid a cluttered desktop. In any armour, a shortcut will now be available for the command.
Vista is full of crap. Its still have so many problems and however they already sent it out on the market.
I suggest that you do a flush on microsoft's knowledge base articles.

To hold Run option surrounded by the Start menu you are used to just right click the Taskbar, plain Properties (will open up "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" dialog), step to "Start Menu" Tab, Click the "Customize" button. If you go down the schedule displayed you will find an option to see the Run Menu.
