Do computer moniters want a driver or software download?

do some monitors requirement a driver/software downloaded? my computer wont work with one my friend in recent times gave me? It turns on for a few consequently starts flashing and turns my computer off.

Answer:
I regard as so. My monitor came next to a CD that I have to run for it to work.
no
Most monitors don't need a special driver. The operating system will automatically sense it and nouns a generic driver. Most newer models (especially flat screen LCD's do ship near CD's).
Not generally. More plausible the monitor you're installing uses a different refresh rate than what Windows is configured for.
most monitors come next to a CD but adjectives it installs is 2 files 1 for the printer and one for the video card the one for the printer is so what u see on the screen is what you bring back on paper (if u set equal color profile for the printer to) the one for the video card is so the videol can set the size and hurz for the screen (e.g my peak can go to 1600x1200 at 60 HZ but at 1024x 768 it uses 85 HZ) it's a concern of how u set it up
