Do you have your display settings set to the proper resolution? Each LCD monitor have one specific resolution that it works best with. Check the documentation that come with the monitor.

To transformation the resolution, right-click your desktop and click Properties. Go to the Settings tab and slide the resolution to the correct one for your monitor. I assume that method will work in Vista! If not, look for Display settings surrounded by the Control Panel.
