How to use an used laptop display as a flat monitor on a Desktop PC?

I've get a unusable Compaq Presario Laptop. Motherboard just doesn't work anymore. I want to rescue its 14" LCD monitor by adapt it to a VGA connector and a external DC power supply.

The cuestion is... I don't know exactly how to. It would be great if someone has the electrics diagram or any information... Greater if somebody gives me instructions.

The laptop have a Trident video adaptor, don't remember the specific model. For details I can check my laptop.

Thanks

Answer:
Trident?

are they still making video cards? I haven't seen one contained by....10-12 years I'd guess.

Regardless, you would need to consult HP/Compaq for electrical system diagram, though I doubt they still have it.....but you don't know 'till you ask.

I seriously doubt that you will engender this work unless you know how to solder....and well.
