You probably hold an older bargain-priced LCD that isn't competent to keep up near the screen updates from the PC. When this occur, the LCD just go black for a few seconds.
Newer bargain-priced LCDs do not suffer from this problem, so getting a unknown monitor will fix the issue, even if you buy a cheap one. Look at the response time for any LCD you consider buying, the lower the better.
Change the colour settings. It will help

Earlier I also had similar problem for a daytime, but it corrected automatically, the vendor said it is due to power supply problems, if you also enjoy power supply related problems in your nouns then it will return with corrected automatically or your vendor several suggest you some good surge suppressor(voltage regulator) .
Check power cord of your monitor. I have same problem. When I checked the cable got exceedingly loose and even after smallest move it got balck, on, black, on and so forth. Try replacing it. Maybe it will useful you.
first of all sort sure the monitor is plugGed in . . . JUST KIDDING. oK first of adjectives it can be one of two things. 1) if you are using your pc for games consequently any one of your games could require a refresh rate that your monitor cannot touch, so change it should be 60 hertz. 2) and this is what i come up with it could be, your graphics driver could be faulty i sit this cos i went through matching i could not play cs for more than 30minutes before my monitor going blank, at that tome i have i radeon card all i did be update to the next driver and everything be fine. but i warn you if you shift a geforce card dont install any 91.?? it will more than likely **** your power dvd picture up . . .
This is due some picture tube problem contained by the monitor.
I THINK THIS IS SO BECAUSE EITHER YOUR MONITOR IS OLD OR IT HEATS UP TOO QOICKLY. GET IT CHECKED BY A MONITOR EXPERT. THIS COULD ALSO BE RELATED TO POWER SUPPLY.
