My laptop monitor does not function, however the external monitor (which i connect does). what is the problem?

I hold a Compaq Presario 2539A. Once i had accidently collided next to my laptop and after that the monitor sometimes does not display properly - in certainty the screen does switch on but is enormously, very dim and i am not able to see anything. But if I connect an external monitor consequently the external monitor works just fine (as of very soon i am working through the external monitor only). Sometimes the integral monitor of the laptop works just fine. it seem that there is someting wrong near either the monitor or its connectors but i am not sure. please help out.

I would say near is a loose connection to your monitir. Go to a repair shop tomake sure and grasp a professional job. If it is relatively latest you may be able to claim a warrenty living.

Bad/loose conection probably. Possibly doomed to failure display. The video card/section works or you couldn't use the other monitor.

Forget the VIRUS comment. Ain't happenin' with this problem.

When you connect again and you gain a blank screen or fuzzy try moving the blind backwards and forwards to see if it comes back - also put a bit of pressure on the backside of the monitor to see if it comes on

obviously if it does this would point up a hardware issue - either a loose nouns or the monitor would have to be replaced. Very unlikely to be a virus as your external monitor is fine - if it be a virus it would effect this one as well - becuase both are controlled by your NB display drivers

reinstall the driver

Your inverter inside the laptop screen is probably out. You might involve to get that fixed. I don't deduce it's a virus or a graphics card problem that can be fixed with driver reinstallation. This simple 'inverter' chip can mess up the entire display.
