monitor peak is fuzzy and has no focus button. how can i return with this so it is clear?

Answer:
i would get a alien computer (windows 98?!, jeez...)
probably the monitor is 2 weeks older than god...return with a new computer.
Open up your monitor control and play for a time with the ZOOM settings, also set the resoulution to around 800x600

Click on a unfilled space on your desktop > Properties>display Settings then drag the little pub to 800x600 and thas it.
if you are not technical satisfactory to remove the cover and adjust the internal focus DO NOT TRY - there are around 30,000 volts yes 30KV inside.... fragment it and buy a used one out of the paer for $10 or $20, it would cost much more than this to take it to a repair shop
seize win xp
Upgrade to a new system already!
it is probaly the focus harware on the monitor going out, the video card, could be any hardware lately playing out
The monitor is either busted or your unloading interference through the monitor cable. Cheap cables can sometime consent to power cables create fuzzy imaging if they are not shielded properly.
Go to microsoft and nouns this newest edition of active x that you use beside Windows 98
Windows 98? Your computer and monitor sound ancient, might be worthwhile to invest surrounded by an upgrade.
If you feel confident adequate and are aware of electrical safety procedures you can adjust the flyback transformer.

You hold to take the casing off of your monitor and you will see that in attendance is a plastic box with a red cable that plugs into a hole surrounded by the picture tube. That's the flyback transformer. On it's side should be two plastic knobs that you can adjust near the appropriate screwdriver. One is for brightness and the other one is for focus.

You have to hold the monitor turned on with a picture on the eyeshade to do the adjustment. As long as you don't touch anything with your hand but only turn the focus adjustment beside an insulated handle screwdriver it's a pretty not detrimental and simple operation.

As someone else already pointed out however, the voltage from the flyback can range as big as 24 thousand volts so you don't want to even brush that red wire next to your arm.
I have to agree next to the others...

There is no "Focus" button on either the monitor or the computer. I don't infer it is the cable between them.

The most likely problem is your monitor is croaking, but merely in armour, do you have a follower, or other electrical device running next to the monitor?

Trust me on this one, a hanger-on would drive you nuts if it was too close to the monitor.

If nought else electrical is around it, at least win yourself another monitor. Systems are so cheap at this point, you might as well replace the adjectives nine yards.
Do you hold a CRT or LCD monitor? If you are using a LCD monitor, then it's possible you don't own your computer set to the native resolution of your monitor. A 15" LCD monitor will usually enjoy a native resolution of 1024x768 whereas 17 and 19" monitors usually own native resolutions of 1280x1024.
You know that Computer is elder than Dirt. Please get a foreign one. Dell has them so cheap very soon.
