Buying a computer beside a flat panel monitor...?

I'm buying a desktop computer next to a large (20-22") flat panel monitor. The cross-question is how much money to spend and what contrast ratio should I aim for? I want to be able to scrutinize DVDs and play games so it would need to be pretty correct...but what counts as 'pretty good'?

As a rule, the higher the contrast ratio, the better compass you'll get within terms of your colours.

For playing games, you want the lowest response time you can take to prevent ghosting with speedy moving images.

Also, for crispness of competence, go for something near the smallest pixel pitch you can.

22", 1920x1200 is pretty good . here is the traffic the bigger and higher res you walk, the more you will spend..check out www.pricegrabber.com this will answer all your question dont take recommend from people who enjoy low tech pcs who think they own the best. you will be able to compare the lcds and find the best price anywhare. stick near newegg, tigerdirect, or zipzoomfly. these co will back up surrounded by case you own a problem.
