Do LCD Monitors hold substandard go span than a CRT Monitor?

Recently, I be out shopping for a LCD monitor but people maintain telling me that LCDs hold lesser natural life span and are prone to damage. Is it really true?

Answer:
Actually the lifespan is more or less equal and all depends on how in good health you care for your monitor and use it. I've see old white IBM monitors outlast LCDs strictly because they be kept dust free, not used amazingly often, and within general only well kept. On the flipside, I've see CRTs go out inside a year's time (personal experience) compared to the 5 years an LCD has last me thus far. Again, it all go to how much you use it and how well you safekeeping for it.

LCDs are prone to damage, resembling any electronic device, if you misuse it.
surely no...

gazy..
it will depend on how would you take consideration of it.......i would prefer lcds though......there space-saving and consume smaller quantity wattage (about 50% savings compared to crts) and a great deal cooler!
The backlight invertor in LCD monitors hold a tendency to burn out after something like 2 years, the actually blind last much longer but short the backlight you really can not see anything on it. This has even become a problem near laptops made in former times couple years.
i think so, what the heck, the soak up the games whether it is lcd or crt but i prefer lcd because of eye strain, in lcd it be minimized
NO!
lcd screens will end about 20 years at 8 hrs a light of day
