Whenever i start my laptop it boots up next to the screen size smaller than the actual monitor. i own to go to settings and switch it to the defaulting monitor and it will finally expand. is there a passageway to fix this problem?

your laptop is older and you own a standard pci video card over a tft screen
ok: step into bios(by pressing delete or f2 during startup) and find the option call: stretch to fullscreen..or something like that..this WILL solve your problem!!!!
