Question for a guy near it ALL:looks, concern, & culture something like everything lower than the sun...?
Why does my monitor keep turning pink??!! It's really making my eyes buggy!
Answer:
okay, i dont know if i fit 100% of the bill there, but within is a big kiss waiting for you downstairs! :D
It is in certainty the cable from the monitor to the video card that is going desperate. Too bad the computer is not worth spending the $179 on for an LCD. Maybe when one of the others get the LCD treatment, then that one will seize a "hang-me-down"! hahahah!
Love you!!! XOXOX
*coughs, and stands up*
Your monitor is going out. That is a red shift due to the other colors failing.
The electron guns or the circuitry is going bad. It may be possible to own it fixed, but if it is more that a couple of years old it is probably better to win a new one. If you can't afford that try a thrift store, Good Will or sum such. You can usually pick up an antiquated computer monitor pretty cheep there. Just formulate sure it works before you be off, or check if they have a return policy.
The foundation I see this most often is a bent pin surrounded by your VGA connector. Sometimes you can straighten them enough to trademark them work again. You will need a small flat blade screwdriver to pry up bent pins if needed, and a small duo of needle proboscis pliers to straighten the pin. Then, or if you find no bent pins, check each pin next to the needlenose pliers to see if you can push it back into the cable housing. If it can confidently be pushed back consequently it may do the same article when you connect it to the vga port. Usually a good solid tug will form the pin so it does not push back. Be alert, and sometimes if the pin is severly mangled, the pin will break and you are SOL unless the monitor cable disconnects at the other end allowing it to be replaced.
FYI, the second biggest common sense is that you need a alien monitor, they really are not usually worth the money to try and repair.
i guess i'm your man. i hope two out of threee is ok. i can't help the repulsive mug. :)

I am here, but, taken... sorry.
Your Monitor is getting a bit too much gamma in the red gun or probably a bit smaller quantity drive in the blue and green guns...
Typical of aging monitors, and TVs... and too bleak. But, you really should look at the falling cost of LCDs! And, the energy consumption drops by 90% when you switch the CRT OFF and the LCD ON!!!
A 19" LCD burns 15 watts surrounded by standby, and about 45 watts when ON!
A 19" CRT burns 40 watts surrounded by standby, and 400 watts when on!!!
Amortization for the LCD to equal the CRT costs, just within energy, is almost 15 months of savings! I am seeing 19"LCDs for $228 to $279!
And, this FREE stuff looks so much BETTER on an LCD eyeshade!!!
it could possibly be that your monitor's colors is failing or frequently crashing and your electron guns inside could very ably have a short. i would buy another monitor one and the same kind you get if i was you.
