Why is my trial flat eyeshade monitor rippling/slightly flickering? Does anyone know please?

its more than likely thats its not your monitor thats the problem but your graphics card
until that time you need to replace it try these few test
1)have you installed your graphic card drivers,these are crucial to the correct functioning of your symbolic card and display,right click your desktop and when in display properties progress to the settings tab and your graphic card build and model will be there subsequent to your monitors name
if its nvidia turn to http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/dr... if its A.T.I then be in motion to http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html...
2)check your monitors refresh rates,a 17" tft monitor have a max refresh rate of 75hz,allways set it to the absolute possible to avoid eye strain
3)check the v.g.a leads are correctly attached to your p.c and monitor,unbutton the leads and check that adjectives the pins are there and none hold been worn out
however by the desciption you have given it looks similar to you need to install your garphic card drivers
the symptoms of a display next to no graphic card drivers are...slow scrolling beside visual rippling,flickering,extremely slow graphics,and incompetent to change to sophisticated resolutions and higher colour settings
this sounds decipherable

Make sure you are using the proper drivers. If that doesn't help, telephone the manufacturer tech support.
I have one do this to me. The manufacturer replaced it because it be bad.

Google "blind resolution scan/fix" and you should get to some sites that will check and adjust your blind accordingly.
Otherwise, convey it back for a unmarked monitor considering it is still under warranty.

Problem may be an incorrect Refresh Rate.
Make sure the monitor isn't near any speakers, I've read that have them too close to the screen can grounds problems.
I think its the liven up rate as well, also, if your using a standard VGA cable and you hold an extension cable on it you may get some attenuation since standard VGA ports are an analog signal. Also variety sure there's no kinks or sharp bends on the cable. Lastly you hold to use the proper resolution if its 1280x1024 set it to what its used for. You don't buy a 1080p TV to see it in 720i right?
I am pretty sure that it is a stimulate rate problem, if it is, it is a small problem, just tune it down/up to what your monitor supports not what your video card supports, if you call for help varying the refresh rate, report me and I will try to help.
