First, ensure the monitor is working. Can you gain the monitor's internal menu to show?
Do you have anything on it since Xp loads?
If you don't have proof it is on, check out that power cord, and the nouns to the computer (both ends) again. Try turning it off, next on again, too.
Next, is there any haphazard you have set your video to unequivocal on a second monitor that isn't there?
Have you tried starting contained by Safe mode to see if it can do the basics?
Have you tried using a different monitor?
Finally, I hold a timing error on one machine that cause it to start up into a grey screen (looks close to pink and blue stripes) if the computer is too cold. The video board doesn't get the right control signals. Heat can inflict similar problems.
