I own a monitor as my primary display, and TV as a secondary clone. Everything looks one and the same except movies and videos that I play don't show up on the TV. It's in recent times black. I tried turning up the refresh rate but that didn't work. Anyone enjoy any ideas?

You might own to enable hardware acceleration on that lesser display. Click Advanced on the Display Properties for the secondary monitor and step to Troubleshoot. Set the hardware acceleration up. That may or may not help, but worth a try.
