Hey, I simply got a unusual pc and Im tryin to install my prehistoric vid card on it. Problem is, when I plug my monitor into my vid card like im supposed to..the notebook comes on, my monitor works.. but then when the loading hotel ends and windows starts my monitor say "saving power monitor will shut down soon" or somethin close to it, and shuts off! ,i can hear my notebook on, so my pc works , but the monitor turns past its sell-by date. If i plug my monitor into the pc itself, the vid card wont work since its plug n play. Any planning how to fix this? hope i was clear. Thanks!
Answer:
The problem is that the system come with onboard video. The computer automatically default to that output.
You need to turn into your BIOS and set the Primary video adapter to either PCI-express or AGP.
Then squirrel away and reboot.
If you don't know how to get into your BIOS, read the directions that come with the computer.
whats occurring is that windows is using your onboard video to nouns. The easiest way is to plug the monitor into the onboard video. The one save for your vid card. Load the drivers for the vid card adn then reboot. When you reboot if still will not work you can next disable the onborad video in the bios and window will load using your vid card.
