did anyone find this monitor to be muddy or should I be getting myself a modern video card.

I HAD a Soyo.. and yes.. it was, as you voice, muddy.
It's one of the lower end monitors..
If you want crisp, run with viewsonic, AOC, Sony, etc..
You carry what you pay for, you know?
