Computer display colors brighten, mouse stops working properly, and computer restarts. Why?!?

How come after my computer loads up to the desktop, in the order of 10-15 seconds then the screen unevenly brightens and the computer restarts, then when the desktop loads up again (in conventional colors) then like peas in a pod problem occurs and the computer restarts again and the cycle keep repeating. Also, each time, right as the eyeshade gets bright, the mouse pointer stops functioning properly and we can with the sole purpose move the pointer in a straight smudge (right or left)?

Thanks in finance!

Hiya Cool,

You are experiencing a fatal hardware error of some sort. Has any hardware be installed recently or have the computer been moved?
Your description describes any a PS/2 mouse port short circuit or a problem of some sort in the display components, but these symptoms could also be cause by a number of other things. Here is a troubleshooting roll for you to try and correct the problem yourself. They are in writ from most probable on down. I recommend you try each item by itself and reboot formerly going on. If the problem goes away after you will know the cause but if you do them adjectives and it goes away you may not be sure which one fixed it.

**Open the shield and place the computer so you can clearly see everything.

1. Power off, remove the mouse completely and inspect the jack on the computer where on earth it plugs in. Leave the mouse out and boot up beside no mouse attached. Does the computer still do the same entry? Use the keyboard to power down if it does not reboot approaching before, after try a different mouse, reboot.

2. Power off, remove the monitor cable at both ends and inspect the pins for bends or crossovers. You should use small hypodermic nose pliers to straighten or bend any pins that look wrong. If they adjectives look good, unscrew the display adapter and remove it (unless it is built onto the motherboard), inspect it for any plunder or burn marks. If it looks OK, replace it and fashion sure the bottom edge of the adapter is exactly parallel near the plastic edge of the slot. If it is an AGP card, variety sure the little plastic lock is in place. Screw it down and attach the monitor, later reboot.

3. Power off and use a glove or piece of cloth to remove the memory modules. Inspect for twist or burn marks and if it adjectives looks OK, reinsert them making sure they are exactly parallel with the slots and reboot. If at hand is no change and you enjoy enough derelict slots, power down again and move the modules to different matching slots. If you own 2 pieces in the first slot of respectively bank, move them to the second slot surrounded by each dune, reboot.

4. Power up and look at the CPU fan, is it turning? Is it going quality of slow? Is there dust contained by the blades of the heat sink beneath the fan? These things will make happen overheating would fit your description. If the computer has be running for longer then a few minutes while overheating it is possible that the processor chip is shabby (If you get to the stop of this list next to no positive results, consider a replacement processor and or motherboard). Replace the fan if it have malfunctioned and verbs any dust clogged heat sink blades near a can of air or a toothpick, reboot.

5. Power past its sell-by date and remove all at a tangent cards (modems, display, audio and network), then inspect the motherboard for interfere with or burn marks. Replace respectively card one at a time and reboot after each replacement. Start next to the display adapter, and make sure they are respectively seated properly and exactly parallel to the plastic slot edge.

That’s my speedy and simple method. Hopefully you never get chronological step 2, but if you do everything above and the problem persists after it may be time to take it to a shop or receive a new computer.

I hope this help, GOOD LUCK!!
The motherboard seems have some problem. its witnessing power surge due to malfunctioning of some hardware part... its not a virus..
If its below warranty you can talk to the PC supplier... if not talk to a service technician...
