Windows 98 Resolution?

Right immediately I have a window 98 computer with a resolution of 800X600. I've researched that if u lower your resolution, your computer will run faster. What should I loose change my resolution to?

Answers:
You really don't want to go to 640x480... which is the lowest video resolution specified by VGA. ANd is the subsequent step down from 800x600.

You would be far better off reinstalling Win98... the speed gain from verbs reinstalling is much more significant than the (pittance) you'd get from dropping the resolution.

Save your background, make sure you can reinstall adjectives of your programs. Then (if you've got a win98 INSTALL disk) wipe the disk out and install WIn98 (or if you've get a Win98 upgrade disk) wipe the disk, install the qualifying product and upgrade to Win98.
right click on an bare space on your desktop then choose properties afterwards click on the advance or settings tab (long time since 98) later there u will find a scroll shaft where u can convert the resolution up and down.
You can lower it to 640X480 but most of the internet website and possibly some of your programmes will become unworkable. It mat not in reality speed up you computer anywat it depends on your video adaptor as some work best at a particular resolution. If you can cope near it lowering the colour depth from true colour to 256k can also help

How much RAM own you got? Increasing the hit can have a significant effect on speed.
true it will run faster, but everything get ridiculously bigger if you go down to 640x. 98 is pretty slow contained by general should ruminate about a current OS...
640 instead of 800 if you can't get it update the video driver but this resolution looks gross.
