Keep a couple things in mind while you're shopping....First, according to some articles, here is a glut of LCD monitors on the market very soon so prices should be low, and don't forget that X-mas shopping season is right around the corner....
Second, a monitor is akin to a TV, meaning that it's something that you purchase and keep hold of for a long time....whereas you might buy a new computer CPU, and later get another one within a few years, when the current one gets hoary and slow....
My advise here is to spend the most money you can afford in a minute, and enjoy your investment within it down the road.....
I personally enjoy not had much nouns or luck with Dell products. They give the impression of being to degrade without delay or break. I enjoy Sony, costs more, but last 2 and 3 times as long. I have be messing with computer stuff since 1995, and I own never liked Dell.
But if you want to pick from a moment ago those 2, the ultra sharp looks good.

Depends. The UltraSharp LCD monitors have a few features the regular monitors don't, resembling DVI input and a USB hub. The UltraSharp monitors also have a slighly better contract ration and their stands are more flexible surrounded by terms of positioning.
I intuitively have two Dell 19" 1905FP UltraSharp monitors and I suppose they are great for the price!
