I troop that adjectives LCD tvs can double for Computer monitors is this true?

I hold looked at some of the tvs and found that not all of them own VGA or DVI inputs and those are the outputs on my video card. But I do have this cool DVI-to-Composite video cable and be wondering if I could hook-up the TV to my computer that way?

We enjoy Dell LCD tv and can use it with our Dell laptops, my son like to play Guild Wars on his tv. Hope that helps a bit!
