I do believe LCD monitors have a lifespan it will burnout sooner or later explicitly why CRT are better when it comes to lifespan. But just a tip don't agree to children press the screen kinda cool though but it's a no-no.
Obvious things resembling not damaging the blind when cleaning moving etc. Jarring or knocking the eyeshade hard "may" wreak problems but overall it is virtually impossible to stop dead pixels. Some screen are even sold with a motionless pixel or two.
All monitors have a life span span so cannot prevent dead pixels from eventually occuring, However provided you bear normal precautions your monitor should later the life of your computer or perchance even longer. My father had a monitor that last him for nearly 20 years & 4 new computers
