How to Use a 20inch LCD beside my CPU?

I get a 20 inch widescreen LCD moniter/TV, when I attached it to my CPU, the resolution was poor, and adjectives the letters be difficult to read, any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks

Answer:
Use VGA output for the computer and check the max resolution for the lcd, I'm guessing 1600x1200 at 60hertz.
Are you using the S-Video output from your CPU to the TV? If not, use it - the picture quality will be greatly better.

Will your LCD TV support a PC's resolution? Some will do 800 x 640 with a VGA cable. With S-Video, things turn down to 640 x 480. Check the specs of your LCD TV.
First determine the Max res of the LCD and what it's refresh rate is (hz) later adjust your graphics adapter it may be neccesary to to change the display type as economically
