I would check the Video card inside the computer. Is it possible the computer/monitor was hit by lightning? Is at hand an abundant dust build-up? I own an HP monitor and it often does indistinguishable thing - in attendance is a short in the Parallel Cable that runs between the monitor and strong drive on mine. I think it took a hit of lightning, but I'm not sure. Best suggestion I could construct is if at all possible, try hooking up another monitor to the PC, if that corrects the problem, afterwards your monitor is toast. This is a common error beside HP comp I guess. It had happen to me. The cable might not be connected properly or there is something wrong next to the Video Graphics card. It'll shut by itself cause it's good electricity for you.
