Can I verbs files and folder from my weak computer near Win 98 to my unknown one next to XP.?
The outdated computer has no compact disc and the floppy doesn't work.
All have Works (different versions) and I hold a lot of writing I don't want to lose.

Yup. Windows XP comes with a Files and Settings Transfer Wizard that should do adjectives of this for you. However, I'd check with Microsoft to ensure that this will work for Win3.5 (or doesn`t matter what that one was until that time Win95).

just help yourself to your hard disk fix it to the investigational one as secondary n after bingo u can access all files contained by it or else you can use an external thorny drive or may b even a pen drive to get the files onto it and next transfer it to the up to date system or else merely upload your files onto some file server over the internet close to megaupload.com and then you can download adjectives of them later
You might want to try a product call Easy PC Transfer by StompSoft. This software will allow you to transfer your files and settings to your up to date PC. I would strongly recommend that you email mail them first though, to be sure that you won't run into any compatibility issues. I know that within is a link on the site for a compatibility chart I'm only not sure if it will apply to you or not.
I think the easiest means of access is to take the HDD out of the weak computer and make it the D: drive within the new one. I did that and it give you a drive you can use as a back up latter once you are sure you have adjectives the data transferred to your C: drive. You will be capable of compress your C; drive to you D: drive on a schedule and other have a vertebrae up too. Just check that the old drive is IDE - it's an frail computer - i think it will be - but check. Xp have wizards to transfer settings and your address book and stuff so use those. Windows 3 programs - don't bother - you can try them - but not plausible to work under XP.

You may find that the answers recounting you to use the Win98 drive from your old computer will work IF:
1) Both computers use IDE drives, this is rather likely beside a Win98 machine, not so plausible with Win3.1.
2) You know how to set your antiquated computer's drive to be a 'Slave'. This is usually done by a 'jumper'. If you do not know how to do this, then connect the drive contained by place of your current CD/DVD drive, as this is likely to be on a separate IDE bridge as a 'Master'. You can check this by looking at the data cable going to the drive. If the cable are same size for all drives (IDE have 40 pins in two rows, beside the middle pin of one row missing) you should be OK. Once you have fitted the drive, boot the computer & budge into Setup. Make sure you have enabled the 'slave' setting for the primary depression, or set the type for the secondary tube from 'CD-ROM', whichever is appropriate. I cannot tell you more minus knowing what type of BIOS you have.
However, this prospect is less stressfull, if you own a USB port:
3) If your Win98 machine have a USB port, then you can use a USB 'link' cable to connect it to your XP electrical device & use this for the transfer.
Windows 3.1 does NOT support USB, at adjectives. The only concrete option is to try this drive contained by your XP machine, instructions as above.
