I enjoy an IBM ThinkPad A30. The eyeshade flickers to adjectives white and later final again constantly. Help!?

I have the same problem a while ago. The cable connector to your backlight is most feasible worn out or your backlight might need replacement. It seem to be a more common problem next to Thinkpads.

IBM ThinkPads are old computers. I suggest to catch a new one beside Windows XP software on it.
