What features within a monitor sacrifice presentation for utility contained by gaming?
I realize that resolution is exalted as well, as these latest video cards transmit massive resolutions that an LCD monitor might not support, but once again, I'm really not trying to discuss things of this nature. I only want to know which features sacrifice gaming performance for meaning.
Think FPS, strategy, and the occasional movie.
What contrast ratio, response time, refresh rate, brightness, and other features should I be considering?
Answer:
For what you are discussion about, in that really arn't a lot of things that I can surmise of that would fit for what you want. One I can think of is response time. This will impact the time you hold to react to situations surrounded by games so the lower the response time the better. I would go for somewhere around 8 milliseconds or lower. Other than that, in attendance really isn't much that fits what you want. Brightness and contrast, stuff like that doesn't really trademark a difference because they are all give or take a few the same and can be in tune anyway. If you want higher element go for a DVI monitor instead of VGA, but once again a activity will work just as correct on VGA so this really isn't a big deal, but is better for the occasional movie.
One article that you might look at is whether or not the screen is protected beside a glass coating. If it is, nearby will often be a grimace where near would not be if you didn't have the chalice. If you want to touch the monitor a lot, take the glass, save, then don't. I hold a non glass one and own had no problems except the occasional friend that pokes it and it messes near the color. Just be careful.
Other than these things, I can't assume of anything that will be a big deal for gaming. All monitors come beside certain resolutions that games support so no big contract here either. I enjoy a basic LCD that I use for games and enjoy no problems with it, everything works great! Basically, pick the monitor you want, it should work dutiful.
Hope this helps!
