Which LCD monitor is better 17"Widescreen or 17"non widescreen?

I want to use this monitor for playing games, watching movies and viewings photos. so please sustain me to chose and also tell me that 17" LCD and 17"CRT screen are equal in horizontal and vertical sizes or not. gratefulness!

Answer:
It depends on what you're looking for. Widescreen is better for viewing movies obviously because you can grasp more image on your blind when the movie is in widescreen format and widescreen DVD appear to be the trend.

Actually it is better for the LCD manufacturers to use widescreen format than the regular sized blind because while the vertical measurement of the monitors are matching 17" for widescreen and non widescreen, the non-widescreen monitor covers more area than the widescreen monitor.

Side minute: Mathematically for a fixed hypotenues length the maximum area can be obtain when the legs of both sides are equal. It means, the more square looking the monitor is, the larger the nouns for a fixed diagonal length.

It really depends on your preference and which one fits your requests better.

As for 17" LCD and 17" CRT question. Usually LCD will be bigger. The aim for that is that on CRT, manufacturer use the convention of using the measurement the tube size of the CRT instead of the actual display nouns of the monitor. You typically lose about inch to a partly an inch in the process. That is why you see on the specification of CRT's the amount "viewable".

Hope I answered your questions.
Definitely widescreen. Everything electronic is shifting to widescreen formatting now. You can't go wrong!
LCD is FAR AND AWAY BETTER than a CRT. Lately, 19" and 17" are just about the same price.

I own a Dell 17", 19's are a bit too big for my eyes.
Well, LCD is deffinately the way to progress, but wide blind and non widerscreen are different. You can get a non widescreen lcd monitor and a widescreen LCD monitor. The sizes of the LCD and CRT moniters are like peas in a pod for non widescreen but you can't get a non widescreen CRT monitor. I would get hold of the non widescreen LCD if your gonna go beside 17" because widescreens look small unless you get I don`t know a 19" or 21". Hope this helps
Well LCD over CRT.
except for some graphics creation stuff.

17 inch widescreens surrounded by my view give the impression of being tiny, if its widescreen it has to be resembling 20 inch widescreen before it looks a clad size.

I prefer widescreens but if it is a 17 inch monitor you want i would say stick near traditional non widescreen.
the best one is LCD you can sit for many hours it create no harm on eyes but surrounded by CRT your eyes starts paining if you sit for more than 1 hr and it requires more space then LCD monitors
