Do you dream up this is anything major or lately a gremlin?
second time i did equal thing but nil happened.i un plugged it and turned it put a bet on on and nothing. i come back surrounded by about 30 min. then and the log on sign was within.i logged on and it's worked since.

Moving and/or clicking the mouse, or hitting a key on the upright probably would have brought the monitor rear legs up.
There are a couple of things you can try. First, right click in the middle of the desktop and click "Properties". In the "Display Properties" glass, click the "Screen Saver" tab and make sure "On resume, password protect" is unchecked.
Also, run into the Control Panel and double click on "Power Options". Make sure "Turn off monitor" and the rest of the items in that are all set to "Never".
Hopefully, that take care of your gremlin!
Sounds close to a power saving point in window...you can disable it under the Display properties...screensaver tab.
I focus it's a gremlin. :)
