What is the Watt out put within a CRT(Carthern Ray Tube) step-up transformer?

One hours of daylight my dad was recounting me about CRT's. He be saying that a CRT computer monitor have a high power step-up transformer. Now I am going to build something and I requirement to find out how much that transfromer will put out in both Wattage and Voltage. I am using a 120 volt, AC(Alternating Current) power outlet. With this, if anyone know, I need to find out how to discharge it and where on earth the transformer is.

Answer:
If noone else answers with more exact details, afterwards this is the best I can do

1) You cannot connect this transformer to 120 V AC.

2) Since modern TVs may consume less than 40W, next this transformer will probably output anywhere from less than one watt to in the region of five watts of power. This is further supported by the size of the transformer itself.

3) It probably outputs somewhere in the 5 to 20 kV.

4) It can be glibly found on the board since it is connected to the very sticky wire that go to the CRT itself and is attached with a rubber plug. It is also round, but beside a square ferrite core running thru it, often looking approaching a "C".

5) The easiest way to experiment beside high voltage in need building any driver circuits is to get a hold of the ignition transformer for mature cars, motorcycles, and scooters. All those transformers need is a switch throwing 6 or 12 V across the primary for you to win a spark from the secondary. It also have so few connections it is very confident to experiment with. On the contrary, the TV transformer will enjoy multiple windings with tap.
i would advise you NOT to mess next to such things.. as the they have a serious see to them, probably one of the highest rating besides other things beside elements.. as you probably know they amplify the thing to power the blind.

unless you know what ur doing and are qualified, do not mess with them.
