Battlefield 2 on PC not starting?
Here is the deal. I be playing it on a 20" Flatscreen LCD Princeton monitor.
Well, I now received a Westinghouse LCD 27" Widescreen TV that can be hooked up to a laptop. I hooked it up to my pc and suddenly I can't take Battlefield 2 to work. I can't play online on the game nor can I even only play the game. It starts up and starts to run the winter sport. The screen go black like it usually does to start the team game then it only kicks me backbone to desktop. I have no problem playing it on the 20" monitor but next to the Widescreen 27" LCD TV I haven't got it to work.
Anyone enjoy any ideas how to solve this?
Answer:
only just a guess on xp right click on icon properties compatibility next tick 640x480 try then vary in option under team game as i said just a guess
Hey sounds resembling you gotta great rig dude :-) Im jealous. Well, let's see if I can aid you.
Try this..It could be that you have gone over "cache" which is holding and saving your antiquated monitor settings thus causing conflict. The cache is within the bf2 directory and here is how you delete it.
You want to delete the cache because when you restart bf2 it will reset your monitor settings to your new monitor.
Go to MY DOCUMENTS
Now look for battlefield 2 and click within there
Now jump to Mods
Now bf2
Now click on cache and you should see a long random number and reminder such as {D798Q2345234523452345 ETC..ETC..
Delete that, it's ok and safe to do that.
Now I would reboot your computer and later restart bf2.
This happened to me since also and is normal it doesn't be determined anything is wrong but most likely you hold the old monitor settings surrounded by there so when the hobby goes to start its using the mature monitor settings and it can't compute it so it crashes to desktop.
Now..when you delete that cache and restart it...Keep your fingers crossed that you see the message where it say its Resetting the shaders and if it does that it will work.
I am almost sure this will work. :-)
oH also when you delete that cache it is going to go into your recycle bin so bring in sure you dont forget to remove it from your recycle bin BEFORE you start bf2 again. HOpe this helps you :-)
