Right click on desktop...Properties...Setting... set the slider to the resolution you want. Choices depend on what your video card will allow.
you have need of to install the drivers for your video adapter.
If it wasn't like this previously try this
To start the computer in undisruptive mode
1. You should print these instructions before continuing. They will not be available after you shut your computer down within step 2.
2. Click Start, click Shut Down, and then, within the drop-down list, click Shut down.
3. In the Shut Down Windows dialog box, click Restart, and consequently click OK.
4. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start, press F8.
5. Use the arrow keys to call attention to the appropriate safe mode way out, and then press ENTER.
6. If you own a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow key, and then press ENTER.
Notes
o In sheltered mode, you have access to just basic files and drivers (mouse, monitor, the ivories, mass storage, base video, defaulting system services, and no network connections). You can choose the Safe Mode near Networking option, which loads adjectives of the above files and drivers and the essential services and drivers to start networking, or you can choose the Safe Mode next to Command Prompt option, which is exactly like as safe mode except that a command prompt is started instead of the graphical user interface. You can also choose Last Known Good Configuration, which starts your computer using the registry information that be saved at the later shutdown.
o Safe mode helps you diagnose problems. If a symptom does not reappear when you start contained by safe mode, you can remove the default settings and minimum device drivers as possible cause. If a newly added device or a changed driver is cause problems, you can use safe mode to remove the device or reverse the transfer.
o There are circumstances where not dangerous mode will not be able to assist you, such as when Windows system files that are required to start the system are corrupted or damaged. In this overnight case, the Recovery Console may help you.
o NUM LOCK must be past its sell-by date before the arrow key on the numeric keypad will function
To run System Restore in not detrimental mode
1. Access System Restore through Help and Support.
2. Follow the instructions on your screen.
Notes
o To access the System Restore Wizard, click Start, and afterwards click Help and Support. Click Performance and Maintenance, click Using System Restore to undo change, and then click Run the System Restore Wizard.
o While the computer is contained by safe mode, System Restore does not create any restore points. Therefore, you cannot unfasten a restoration that you performed when the computer be in secure mode.
o You can use System Restore to restore your computer to any restore point while in protected mode. If you cannot start the computer in standard mode, you can use System Restore to restore to a time when you could start the computer in need errors.
o To restore to a time when your computer started without errors, select a restore point as close to the time you remember it later started without errors.
o If System Restore is suspended because of insufficient disk space, you cannot see it by making more disk space available while in not detrimental mode. You must restart the computer in standard mode and brand name more disk space available.
how old is your moniter? is it powerful of resoloutions above 640x480?
Try going into the INTEL configurations and change it from nearby. Good luck.. Also be sure you have the most recent drivers for your video card 1st
To change your screen's resolution, right click on your desktop, select properties, next the settings tab. Adjust the screen resolution tab to your desired size. If you are still constrained to 640x480 then your video card (and or monitor) may not know how to go any sophisticated and you will need to upgrade it.
Hope that help.
There are two ways to do this (they both take you to one and the same menu though).
1. Start / Control Panel / Display
2. Right-click anywhere on an empty space on your desktop (any place that doesn't enjoy an icon on it). This will display a small porthole with in the region of 6 items in it. Select Properties from this glass.
You'll now see a multi-tabbed fanlight that has a range of things you can change for your display (resolution, screensaver, color theme, etc.
The resolution (dots per inch) is changed in the Settings tab. Use the slider to move it left/right to adjust the resolution. The superior the resolution the smaller the font. The resolution depends on the quality of the monitor you enjoy.
