I don't hold a PS3 but my understanding of the HDMI nouns is that it is part of the indemnity model to prevent hijacking the HD (HiDef) output individual intercepted and saved unencrypted/unprotected. I also believe that if HDMI isn't guaranteed from system-cable-output display the output stream is down sample to a lower resolution. Given that, it seems acceptable that you should be able to use the adapter.

It should work just fine. If I am not mistaken, the PS3 have full support for PC monitors.
