Make sure that you enjoy admin privleges. It shouldnt matter, but its the solely thing I can assume of.
You may want to reload the mouse drivers. Open Control Panel and double click on Mouse. On the hardware tab, select properties, then select troubleshoot. Somewhere contained by there is a place to reload or update the drivers.
