not true you own to have a dvd player on your computer close to nero or one of a hundred others that can be found online i have two of them and they are worthy to have microsoft have alot of sites they can show you where you can grasp free trials and then you own to pay for them after that. i bought cyberlink power dvd player and it works great a short time ago one idea for you to suppose of nothing is really free online nearby are alot of things that are but mostly just free radio stations and so on powerfully hope that helps over and out
There are few things that could be cause this. Here are a few things you can do to fix this problem.
Before attempting the following check if your DVD Rom came next to ANY free DVD players. Just install them as they will also install the DVD playback library and your Drive's drivers for you. Restart and then delight in the DVD in any software including Windows Media.
If you ponder you'vedone that then try:
1. Update your Graphics driver
2. Update DirectX (to be on the risk-free side)
3. Change your screen resolution to 800x600 16 bit.
4. Goto Advanced Video properties (on impossible to tell apart page as the resolution) and select a refresh rate from "show one and only refresh rates that the monitor can support", choose one which is nominal, lower the better but not below 60Hz.
5. On like advanced properties look for Hardware acceleration and make sure it is at Maximum.
6. Also within same Advanced properties; see if "wrte combing" is Checked. if it is Uncheck it and try , else Check it again if it doesnt make a difference.
7. Make sure you hold enough memory, turn bad programs and backgroups apps you are not using when playing the DVD, the memory may be starving becuase of them.
8. Make sure you DVD ROM drive drivers are loaded properly (refer to system property->hardware setup for this)
ALTERNATIVELY
You can simply download and try playing the DVD next to this program "VideoLan VLC" found at http://www.videolan.org. If it works then you don't hold to worry something like the rest of the things above.
