Grey Vertical Lines?

I've have a Compaq CRT monitor for about a year very soon, and it's been fine...but today when I come back from a run, and I notice a trail of faint vertical grey lines spaced next to whiter lines (basically darkens and lightens anything colors they sit on) coming off of dark colors on my monitor. I couldn't think of much else to do aside from degaussing, and resetting...it's definately a monitor problem, though.

Answer:
Actually, it may not be a monitor problem at adjectives. There's really only one style to tell for sure, but it could be your video card.

You entail to do one of two things:

1. Hook your computer up to a different monitor, see if the lines still appear.

2. Hook your monitor up to another working computer, and see if there are lines still.

Either course, you'll find out which part (monitor or vid card) is cause the problem. Either of these two parts can 'go bad' at any time, and this is one of the many things they can do.

When you find out which element is causing the problem, see if it is lower than warranty (usually both are covered for at least 1 year by the businesswoman or the place where you bought them from). If not, you'll most imagined have to replace the defective portion. Neither monitors nor video cards are considered servicable parts, and it's cheaper to replace either anyway.

Good luck,
Mikel
truly, it could be your video card...unhook it and put it back surrounded by. or try another monitor if you have one available.
