37" monitor on a Dell Dimension 3000?

I purchased a 37" HDTV a couple of months ago and today i realize that the TV comes with both VGA and DVI connectors. I own a Dimension 3000 and was wondering if it be possible to connect the PC to the big screen. Currently I am on a 21'' broad screen monitor and I racal that when I installed the 21" I have a hard time finding the right plug contained by to make the eyeshade work. My question is can i connect the 37" to the 3000 Dimension using VGA and current Video Card? Or will i call for to upgrade my Video Card, if that is the overnight case what shoudl I get?

Answer:
Best solution: plug it within and see what happens! You'll want to set the TV "source" to VGA, of course. But it should show a monitor picture next to no trouble.

Be aware that you'll have a constant maximum resolution on the TV; just because it's physically big doesn't close-fisted that you'll get multiple K's by multiple K's of pixels. And if it's a all-embracing screen TV, be prepared for the statue to stretch horizontally, distorting it. I haven't yet found a instrument to make Windows conveyance the aspect ratio of Display Properties Settings... to account for a wide-screen monitor (but others may be smarter, and I'll read their answers next to interest).

If you do need a spanking new video card, it's more likely to be for taking dominance of Vista's new graphics "features". Your primary concern is the type of connector on your motherboard that the video card plugs into. There are several styles (PCI, PCI Express, AGP) and none are interchangeable. Be sure to rob your old card to the store beside you so you can match connectors. (To see the differences, and swot some other cool stuff, start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/video_card.... The follow the various links underneath Motherboard Interfaces to see what the connectors actually look similar to. Color is important!)

If you bring the right connector, and you're not into hi-res 3D gaming or doing a lot of multimedia editing, afterwards just in the order of any video card will do, including the sub-$100 ones.

Good luck.
