Cannot click right/left mouse, but can move the arrow?
i cann't click left/right mouse button, but the arrow is working i can point anything on desktop???
Answer:
Shut computer down, CTL-ESC, Arrow up, enter, right arrow, enter. Unplug mouse, reseat. Power up.
If it still does not work unistall in device executive, then reboot
it will reload drivers for it.
Almost forgot to get hold of to the device manager use CTL-ESC to bring up start menu, afterwards use a combination of TAB and arrow key to move around, and enter to select items.
If it still does not work borrow a mouse from a friend and see if it works.
If it does replace mouse.
If it doesnt, boot contained by safe mode and see if it works.
If it still doesnt it might be the motherboard port (PS2)
Then try a USB mouse.
Hope this help.
I would try a new mouse.
The bestway to try to solve the problem is to see if the mouse works correctly beside another mouse you might find at work or some other place. If the new mouse is working correctly next it definetely is a hardware problem and the best thing to do is replace the mouse since they are not vastly expensive. If the replacement mouse still does not work, a damaged PS2 port on the motherboard might be one of the problems.
Same problem happen to me. You need to buy a bright mouse. Maybe your computer came beside a warranty.
is this a new optical mouse...? if its the feeble one try opening it and doing some cleaning...
