I in recent times got a brand new monitor and it came near a VGA cable and a DVI-D cable. The manual say the DVI cable is optional. I own a plug-in spot on my PC for both kinds of cable. What is the difference between the two, and which one should I use, or should I use both cables?
Answer:
The VGA cable is analog and the DVI cable is digital. I would use the DVI, but after again some monitors have better picture on the VGA, so I would try them both out (not at impossible to tell apart time).
Unless your video card supports DVI and you happen to enjoy a DVI cable laying around, dont bother. Just use VGA, you wont awareness the difference.
The image point with DVI is much better than VGA.
There are some lower priced LCDs that come beside both DVI and VGA inputs.
Some also come with the DVI cable surrounded by the box.
