Because people dont know when its on or not. What if your computer doesnt POST? How would you know it be on if you had no fan? And plus, some people resembling lights in their cases. My baggage has 5 LED fan in it, and neon on the top and bottom. I dont reflect they're too bad...
BTW: Don't recommend taking apart friend's computers and doing that. they usually gain pretty angry. Why do the lights annoy you? Do you have a personal vendetta against them?
