Help my son-in-law messed up my laptop?

ok follow this i enjoy a ibm thinkpad21 its old but upright it was a 2000 window. my son-in-law has a windowsxp he take his disk puts it in mine and subsequent thing i know adjectives my info goin and my laptop says window xp then i have to get a switch to use it at all i am not comp smart at adjectives on its inners well presently i have windowsxp next to 128ram and i am going nuts with the things its doing slow as moses what to do enjoy it repaired where i get it can he put it back to mundane and use the info he has where on earth i got it from? assist

Your best bet would be to just reinstall window 2000 on the computer. Though you will probably have to own someone do that for you if you do not have the restore disks that own all the drivers on it.
