Whats the difference b/w intel core duo and core2 duo ??

newly wanted to know whats the key difference and how fast or slow they are compared to respectively other

Answer:
The last answer is mostly right, but not relatively. He was write on the certainty that Core Duos are 32 bit and Core 2 Duos are 64 bit. All Core Duos have 2Mb cache, but some Core 2 Duos have 2 while others have 4. If the model number is T5*** is have 2 cache, if it is T7*** then it have 4. Overall the Core 2 Duo has better architecture, and will outperform the Core Duos.
core2duo is the hottest and has the hottest architecture ... u would probably never know the difference unless u benched them ... just acquire somthing over 2 ghz and you will be good to travel ..
The Core Duo is a 32bit processor with a 2mb cache per cpu.

The Core 2 Duo supports 64bit architecture and have 4mb cache per cpu.

To put it simple: it gets more instructions done per clock cycle; a 1.8ghz core 2 duo is faster than a regular 2.0ghz core duo.
intel core duo is an updated variation
