Can I truely be Wireless or am I bound by "hotspots" ?

I bought a Compaq C300 at the time I thought it be good for what I looked-for it; school first and foremost. I recently needed to buy a PC network card from Cingular (or AT&T anything they are now) so I can roam and have internet. I than notice that the laptop does not have a slot for it nor does it hold a slot for those new express cards. So does that be determined that I can only own wireless internet from hotspots?!

Answer:
Check with ATT more or less usb modems. You plug them into your usb port and they connect the same means of access your pcmcia card would have.
I'm sure AT&T sell a USB wireless card for their network... if they don't I know Verizon does... that should provide equal functionality
unless you get your laptop upgraded, later pretty much.
more likely, although I estimate there are some that you can use through your USB port, but I'm not sure, lately take it to the place where on earth you bought it and let them know what you want to do near it, they might help you out, okay good luck
