This would work great if you had access to another computer near Internet access - which I assume you have, base on the presence of your question on the afore-mentioned Internet.
Download the following exe database:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/g...
(or go to the Dell Home & Home Office website, click on the "Support" tab, click 'Drivers and Downloads', select your computer model (Latitude D600), expand the Network entry, download the 'Broadcom - Driver').
That's the driver for your NIC. The executable should install the driver automatically for you; if it's in truth a self-extracting archive, open Device Manager (Start > Run... > "devmgmt.msc"), right click the yellow-question-mark-"Unknown Device", click Install Driver.
If you discover more sickly question grades inside Device Manager, you can go hindmost to that Dell page and download the relevant drivers for them.
Download the Network card drivers from dell on another machine copy it to disk and run it on your dell.
You necessitate to install the drivers for all your hardware. You involve XP compatible drivers.
You need to download the most recent NIC driver from support.dell.com.
Unfortunately, you're going to have to do it on another appliance with a live internet nouns and put the driver on a USB flash drive for transport to your Dell computer.
First of all, click Start & budge to Run. Type "devmgmt.msc". In device manager, you should see a heading "Network Adapter". If you see it in attendance then simply right click on it & choose uninstall.
Then restart your computer. If the drivers for that NIC are shipped near Windows XP, they would get installed.
If incase, you do not see your NIC card beneath Network Adapter. You would see it with a Yellow sign lower than the heading - Other Devices. Right click on it, choose uninstall. Reboot the computer. If the drivers for that NIC are shipped with Windows XP, they would find installed.
If this does not help, after please give me the NIC card moniker and make number. I would be aid you further.
the icon wil not appear contained by the task banister if it is disable.. make sure you enjoy the right driver and enable it..
if it is the NIC you can find out by clicking start>>>right click on my computer>>>click properties>>>click on the hardware tab>>>click on device examiner go down to lattice adapters and if the card is not working for some principle, it should have any a small yellow exclamation point or a red x. if at hand is nothing likw this click on the small + sign to the departed of network adapters this will show your meet people adapters one of them should have the autograph of the manufacturer and NIC contained by the name.....howeve... if the card is not the problem thatn possibly your computer does not have the ip adress what you own to do in this shield is reset your modem either by the reset button contained by the back or by unplugging the cord,, well brought-up luck :)
