Laptop 2.2ghz?

my laptop say its p4-m 2.2 ghz but right under that it say its 1.6 ghz so is it 2.2 or 1.6 ghz?

Sounds like its within power saving mode. The CPU slows down when the tool is "idling", when you run an application it goes up to full speed this is to extend the battery-operated life. The better the CPU the more power is needed from the battery.
