Get the Dell I love my Vostro 1500 laptop. I individual have 1gb memory since the front cache is already 2mb its plenty prompt enough for me.
Avoid integrated video card if you can.
I get XP and no trulife for me - personally I don't resembling to see reflections on my peak when I am using it unless I want to put on my makeup.
I'd avoid the one with integrated graphics.
You can probably do far better than Dell for the cost, but it's the better one out of those two. If you plan on doing anything more than bureau work (or even running vista), avoid integrated graphics like the plague.

I'd stay well clear of Dell. Their customer support is non-existant. I other prefer to buy anything expensive & complicated from a local shop, even if it means paying a few quid extra. You can other go wager on to the shop and kick up a fuss if the article breaks down. It's much easier for a supplier to ignore your phone call / e-mails than if you're there within person.
Depends what you wanna do near it..
They both appear to have integrated graphics so you won't know how to play decent games.
The HP graphics is slightly better... but that's neither here nor within if games aren't your thing.
Personally I'd choose the Dell because I prefer Dell's to HP, but for no exceptional reason.
They both appear very similar to me, bar the cpus and unless there's anything specific you want to do that would be better on an AMD (the HP one) rather than an Intel (the Dell one) I'd dance for the cheapest!
