In the process of buying a laptop for college. In want of suggestions.?

You must spend your money for the best brand.
As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time and they are vastly reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still resembling the day I bought it. Didn't even enjoy to service it at least once up to immediately.
I recommend you to buy a HP (with experience) or Dell laptop.
On www.hp.com you can even customize your laptop. And also you can check the price.
Just one suggestion for you, DON'T buy more than you need.

Dell laptops are enormously good. You wouldn't entail all that much memory, possibly 1 GB.. I think your strong drive space should be about a 100 or 200 gb drive...you would be surprised how much space you can use for different things. I would run with a dell if I be you, though, they have some virtuous deals.

Your budget allows you to buy a pretty correct computer. Go to www.techbargains.com and hunt for Dell's offers. Sometimes they finishing only for hours, sometimes they are constrained to first 100 buyers. You can try Lenovo, also. They are the best in portability, but... I don`t know will be hard to find something surrounded by your budget. HP has right laptops, too and the best CS ever. I had some problems near my laptop and they helped me every time. Another brand that I close to is Gateway. When you touch it, it's like driving a Mercedes. Well, it depends on you, what are looking for.
Sometimes, stores resembling Staples or Office Depot have really righteous deals, too. Especially around holidays. [4th of July is not that far away]
