Well the cheapest NEW retail laptop that Apple has out is the Macbook which is $1099. But if you want a cheaper Mac you'll hold to go to MacMall.com which is an Apple certified distributor. It still have the G4 ibook's at $899.99 the specs for the iBook are

Apple does not make "cheap" computers since the power of all Macs are on par next to Sony and IBM in PC-land. Certainly better quality than Cracker Jack models from Dell.
Macs are adjectives fully loaded with adjectives the features you would usually need that are habitually "extra" on Windows laptops.
If you want an "inexpensive" Mac try ordering from someplace approaching MacMall where you can usually attain outdated (but still new) models. After that, you can find tons of pre-owned Macs on all the usual net sites. A friend of mine just get a PowerMac G4 for $200 and just upped the RAM, HD, video card and installed Tiger on it.
